ULTRAMEGA - BENEDICT SIDDLE

Benedict Siddle is ULTRAMEGA, a London based illustrator, muralist, sign painter & designer.

ULTRAMEGA started as a T-shirt brand, I used it as a way to share my illustrations with the world. My ambition was to put my artwork on an accessible product people could wear & enjoy. The name ULTRAMEGA was inspired by the names & attitude / positivity of the Ultramagnetic MC’s & the Japanese characters Ultraman, Mega Man etc.

I have a few skills at my disposal & love the variety this brings. The contrast of working in both physical & digital environments, the process of sketching by hand in comparison to working on a detailed vector image in Adobe Illustrator, versus painting a mural with spray paint…

I have worked with a variety of clients, but have a particular enthusiasm for working on projects related to food, music, printing on garments & positive causes.

I like to incorporate aspects of culture, humour, fun, surreal & psychedelic elements into my work. Occasionally referencing other artists current, ancient, well known, commercial & more underground.

ULTRAMEGA projects a fun, playful and colourful vision of the world.

Previous projects have included:

  • Illustrations / design for printing on garments,.

  • Branding / logo design / bespoke typography.

  • Murals - Spray paint / hand painted / stencil

  • Sign painting / writing - including large scale work & incorporation into murals

  • Promotional - flyers / posters / food packaging

  • Printing, various techniques, mostly screen printing my work to exhibit, & on T-shirts.

  • Detailed vector work in Adobe Illustrator

  • Image manipulation in Adobe Photoshop

  • Personal work, expressing & developing myself, exploring my own ideas. It’s important to me to play with my own concepts & entertain my creativity. This work often feeds back into my professional projects.
